Minister Ramokgopa, Excellencies, Colleagues and partners, It was a victory of multilateralism when the international community managed to agree on the 2030 Agenda in 2015. However, it is true that there has been far too little progress.
I consider this as a mission: we have to stay tuned.

In addition to rolling out vaccinations we also need to ensure equitable access to testing and therapeutic options to minimize infections, hospitalization, cases of severe illness and long COVID. This is particularly important to protect the most at-risk and vulnerable groups.
Germany believes that testing and treatment strategies have to go hand in hand.
