The Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) is a new framework for cooperation in the Americas that aims to promote sustainable and inclusive economic growth and integration in the region. Canada’s engagement in APEP will demonstrate the Government of Canada’s strong commitment to the region and will be a means to project Canadian values. APEP is also aligned with Canada’s inclusive trade agenda.

Canadian Sanctions Related to Venezuela

Sanctions related to Venezuela have been enacted under the Special Economic Measures Act in order to implement the decision of the Association formed between Canada and the United States of America on September 5, 2017. The Association called on its members to take economic measures against Venezuela and persons responsible for the current situation in Venezuela.
