The Principality of Waldeck existed between 1712 and 1918. Until 1929 the country continued to exist as a free state in the German Empire. His flag was black-red-gold.

The Principality of Salm existed from 1803 to 1811. Its colors were black, white and red and were taken from the coat of arms.
