The National Institute for Teacher Formation and Competence (INAFOCAM) is a decentralized organ subordinate to the ministry of education. Its function is to coordinate the education offer, the competence, the actualization and the perfection of the educational staff on national level. The INAFOCAM is a counselling agency of the ministry of education in relation to the formulation, the application and the evaluation of policies, careers, education programs and projects, of competence, the improvement and the actualization of the teaching staff prescribed by the Dominican education system on different educational levels and modalities. Its task is furthermore to guarantee the formation of the teaching staff needed by the Dominican education system in an adequate quality and quantity through a system which enables the education demanded by the society through an integral development which raises a claim for ethical, democratical, humanist, critical and equal education.

The Central American Educational Community and the Dominican Republic created an education portal (CEDUCAR), which links eight countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, the Dominican Republic and their respective educational systems. Its purpose is to function as a virtual meeting place for all educators in training and service, where one can stay informed, participate, train and update about educational issues. CEDUCAR is a dynamic educational portal that offers the following tools: online courses, virtual communities, virtual campus, chats, forums, links, a resource center that compiles important digital publications, newsletters, digital library collections and other materials of interest.

The Latin-American Network of Educational Portals (RELPE) was founded in August 2004 in an agreement of the ministers of education of 16 Latin-American countries. Those countries constitute RELPE with their respective autonomous, national, public and free portals. The principles of RELPE are that every country maintains its own portal in accordance with the education project and with the respective national interests, which orients itself on other portals but, apart from that, is totally independent and offers its contents in free circulation in the network.

The Latin-American Committee for Educational Mathematics (CLAME) unites accredited researchers and teachers of the field of educational mathematics of Latin-America. The main objective of the association is to connect actions and shared interests with the aim to promote qualitative research and its actualization and to attain professionalization of the teachers through scientific, technological and social development of the region. This is approached by the promotion of the diffusion of education which enables the fostering of the quality of education, and by creating a frame, in which persons who share this common interest can exchange ideas and information.
