In this letter Marie Seton writes about the problems with Menon and her warning to Nehru of a coming crisis. She asks Moody to help Indira Gandhi to get money to England to help Rajiv (Indira’s son), who is a student there, and suggests that Peggy Ashcroft could put Indira up during her visit to London. Seton refers to the generosity of the Nehru household and the kindness shown to her. She contrasts her relaxed behaviour with members of the Nehru household with the behaviour expected of her at a £500 birthday party her mother threw for Stanley Baldwin.
