The beginning of this letter is missing. In this letter Marie Seton describes Menon’s relationship with Nehru and the conflicts within himself crystallised by Nehru’s death. She also refers to the behind the scene fights which took place in the presence of Nehru’s corpse and Menon’s reaction to the fights. She shares further thoughts about Menon and the lack of preparations for Nehru’s death (including the absence of a death mask) due to lack of warnings.

In this letter Marie Seton informs Moody that Indira Gandhi will be in London for four and a half days and asks him to see her [Indira] without Helene. She provides an account of the stress Indira is undergoing and asks Moody to help her. Seton also refers to the strain which Menon’s mental state is putting on Indira.

In this letter Marie Seton asks Moody to update Indira about Menon’s illness. She provides some background to Menon’s past psychological state and the lead up to the present operation needed because of a clot on the brain. Seton asks Moody to try to persuade Indira to intervene with Nehru who Seton thinks is the only person who can take action in the situation. She emphasises the importance of Menon to Nehru politically, Menon’s vulnerable position politically, and Menon’s ‚unhealthy dependence‘ on Nehru. She also refers to Indian attitude to mental illness.
