Berlin 21 November Dearest Annerl! I’ve just received your last little letter, and I’m going to write you a few quick lines before I continue with my packed programme for the day. Wedding awfully nice, impressive church ceremony, banquet for the gods, and your Etl even managed to give a fine speech at table. Berlin is full of old and new relatives and acquaintances – many of them quite delightful (though none of them compare to you and the kids, the VERY DEAREST OF HUMAN BEINGS!). In addition I’ve been visiting museums, nattering endlessly etc. and the days are flying …

https://www.tate.org.uk/art/archive/tga-8812-1-4/clark-correspondence-files

This group of 472 files contain official or business correspondence which largely post-dates Clark’s employment at the National Gallery. The files originally formed three basic sequences. The first covered mainly the 1940s, and the other two ran, in many cases, parallel during the 1960s and 1970s.
