New York, 12 November Dearest Annerl! Shortly after I wrote my last letter to you, Heinzl collapsed and almost died. He was in hospital for two weeks but he’s strong enough now to go back to the office and back to work. He was so incredibly brave. When I took him to hospital that night he was virtually in a coma with a high fever. The doctor said he couldn’t be absolutely certain that he’d make it through the night. And Heinzl sensed that.
