This letter relates mainly to Indian politics. Marie Seton writes about Congress Party factions and in-fighting, regional divisions and linguistic battles leading to discrimination in India, industrial progress, and colour prejudice in India. She also discusses the general detestation of Krishna Menon – his tactlessness, his neuroses, including a possible persecution complex. She tells Moody about Indira (Gandhi’s) unhappiness at Menon’s disruption of the Nehru household and expresses concerns about what will happen after Nehru’s death.

In this letter Marie Seton requests help with a plan to ship Menon back to Bombay, asking Ronald and Helene Moody to give Indira Gandhi an enclosed letter (not present). This letter would ask Indira to get in touch with James Cameron, so that he can tell Indira the story of a scheme to eliminate Menon which he related to Marie in 1959. She asks Moody to try and get Indira’s objective help in a potentially explosive situation.

In this letter Marie Seton relays to Moody her impression that Nehru is fading away. She writes about accompanying Indira to the inauguration of a village welfare project and describes the discussions on Nehru’s health which took place on the way back from the village. This letter was written over the course of two days. The beginning is missing and the letter starts on page 3. It also jumps from page 4 to page 7 halfway through. 28 May 1964 In this letter Marie Seton gives an account of Nehru’s body being carried down and tells Moody of her disgust at press photographers, particularly a woman trying to take candid shots of Indira’s grief.
