Building with DNA

https://www.mpg.de/14928079/building-with-dna?c=12643180

Life on Earth developed from inanimate components. Can we recreate this process in the laboratory, and what tools do we need for this? Using DNA origami, the art of folding at a scale of just a few millionths of a millimetre, we are able to reconstruct individual cellular components. They may be capable of taking over important tasks in our bodies in future.

Nanomaterials with laser printing

https://www.mpg.de/16976860/nanomaterials-with-laser-printing

Interdisciplinary team from the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces presents for the first time a laser-driven technology that enables them to create nanoparticles such as copper, cobalt and nickel oxides. Photoelectrodes are produced in this way for a wide range of applications such as the generation of green hydrogen.

Holograms with sound

https://www.mpg.de/10741300/hologram-acoustic-sound?c=11965788

Sound can now be structured in three dimensions. Researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems and the University of Stuttgart have found a way of generating acoustic holograms, which could improve ultrasound diagnostics and material testing. The holograms can also be used to move and manipulate particles.
