First scientific images of Euclid mission released https://www.mpg.de/21065917/euclid-image-release?c=12135602
The Euclid space telescope has published the first colour photos from space. These show a combination of data from the two instruments VIS (Visible Instrument) and NISP (Near-Infrared Spectrograph and Photometer), which capture visible and near-infrared light with large-area detectors. Euclid’s most important task is to make the most detailed three-dimensional mapping of the universe and thus understand the contribution of dark matter and dark energy in the development of the universe. The Max Planck Institutes for Astronomy and Extraterrestrial Physics were involved in the development of Euclid.
