Once again, we have gathered our unique IAF Alumni network for a yearly gathering! We hosted a dynamic event that consisted of a comedy show and a musical comedy performance that made our participants laugh and take a break from life’s stress. The event took place at Blue House Tea Salon in the heart of Beirut and was concluded by a socializing period. To all who attended and participated in the event’s success, a big thank you!

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation Thailand motivates people to get involved politically and to play an active role in society. Our events promote democracy, human rights and a free market economy. Since we want to reach young people in particular, we follow a gamification approach in many of our projects. Innovation for Democracy: Join our Democracy Board Game Festival!

It will take place online, via the platform “Gather” – so everyone can join, regardless of time zone, location or corona restrictions! Liberal Forum: Armenia

This was the core question of the Liberal Forum Armenia taking place in a country famous for IT innovation and one of the leaders in exporting ICT services. The forum provided a space for discussions among politicians, academics and civil society organizations. FNF Board member Dr Maren Jasper-Winter also visited Armenia and talked about the educational policy cycle and its challenges.

The World Order and Globalization Hub welcomed its twenty-second delegation in September, consisting of nine professionals in politics. The delegation comprised of participants representing Chile, Costa Rica, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, India, Lebanon, Slovakia, and Thailand. The delegates included Chiefs of Staff, Advisors, Party Leaders, Campaign Managers, Communications Experts, and Elected Officials. The eight-day study tour focused on campaigning and elections in the context of democracy, and took place in Washington, D.C., Lansing, Michigan and Detroit, Michigan.

Event: Taiwan Student Triumphs in Falling Walls Lab, to Represent Taiwan at Global Finals in Germany

The 2024 Falling Walls Lab held its Taipei preliminary competition today (11th). Student Yi-Zih Chen from the Graduate Institute of Data Science, College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at National Taiwan University, won the competition and will receive full airfare and accommodation support to represent Taiwan at the global finals in Berlin this November.
