https://www.freiheit.org/lebanon/focus/alumnium

Since the first IAF seminar in February 1995, around 350 participants have been attending the international Friedrich Naumann Foundation Alumni events held in Gummersbach, Germany each year. These alumni have become multipliers and important counterparts for the Foundation’s international work, as they strive to implement liberal ideas and set up networks in their own countries – and many enjoy successful political careers. On this page we want to introduce the FNF Lebanon Alumna.

Mexico City | Friedrich Naumann Foundation

https://www.freiheit.org/mexico?page=1

In Mexico, FNF seeks to promote liberal ideas by fostering a market economy, the rule of law, and civic education. We work on topics such as innovation, digitization, and the open market because an innovative and open society can promote the global freedom of individuals. Development depends on the ability of people to cooperate voluntarily to transform their creativity into value for others. We work together with Mexican organizations and civil society to promote the rule of law and a stronger democracy in which human rights are defended, and where good governance is a priority.

Slovakia: Being queer in Slovakia? A nightmare

https://www.freiheit.org/central-europe-and-baltic-states/being-queer-slovakia-nightmare

Slovak queer people barely enjoy any rights in their homeland. In the still strongly catholic country, there are no officially approved partnerships for people with same-sex orientation. On the contrary, marriage is anchored in the constitution as a unique bond between a man and a woman. The anti-LGBTQI+ and anti-gender narratives of top Slovak politicians and the Catholic Church, are contributing to this.

Human Rights International: Tanzania – protecting the rights of women and children

https://www.freiheit.org/tansania/tanzania-protecting-rights-women-and-children

In Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro region, many human rights abuses affecting women and children give rise to concern. Customary law, which is still applied by traditional chiefs, exacerbates the situation as it neither protects nor strengthens the rights of these groups in need of protection.
