Since the first IAF seminar in February 1995, around 350 participants have been attending the international Friedrich Naumann Foundation Alumni events held in Gummersbach, Germany each year. These alumni have become multipliers and important counterparts for the Foundation’s international work, as they strive to implement liberal ideas and set up networks in their own countries – and many enjoy successful political careers. In Mexico, FNF seeks to promote liberal ideas by fostering a market economy, the rule of law, and civic education. We work on topics such as innovation, digitization, and the open market because an innovative and open society can promote the global freedom of individuals. Development depends on the ability of people to cooperate voluntarily to transform their creativity into value for others. We work together with Mexican organizations and civil society to promote the rule of law and a stronger democracy in which human rights are defended, and where good governance is a priority.

For three decades, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom has been active in the countries of the Western Balkans, supporting them on their path to a united Europe.
