Wir haben einen langjährigen Freund und einen wunderbaren Menschen verloren, der wie kaum ein anderer liberale Werte gelebt und verkörpert hat. Er berührte und inspirierte viele Menschen und begleitete sie auf ihrem Weg zur eigenen Erkenntnis. Durch seine Arbeit hat er die IAF mit aufgebaut und geprägt und Standards gesetzt, nach denen wir heute noch arbeiten.

In diesem Jahr feiern wir das 25-jährige Bestehen der IAF und gemeinsam mit dem Gründungsdirektor Jörg Dehnert, seiner Nachfolgerin Birgit Lamm und der aktuellen Direktorin der IAF, Bettina Solinger, gehen wir auf eine Reise in die Vergangenheit und erfahren, wie 1995 alles begann, welche Herausforderungen sie im Laufe der Jahre meistern mussten und was die IAF überhaupt so besonders macht.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Africa, in partnership with the Africa Liberal Network and Liberal International, issued a call for proposals for our Africa Climate Change Project in February titled  Smart Cities – low carbon growth and adaption to climate change in both a metropolitan as well as a social enterprise community. Here we announce the two winning projects from Africa.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom’s Africa Regional Office together with Liberal International is working on liberal perspectives on Climate Justice and Smart Cities. Although, Africa is among the continents with the least negative impact on climate change, according to the UN, it is one of the greatest sufferers. 1.3 billion people live on the African continent. This number is expected to double within the next 32 years.
