Diego Ato, project coordinator of the Instituto Pro Libertad (IPL) and human rights activist, participated in the seminar „The defense of human and civil rights on the Internet, in society and in the business world“ of the International Leadership Academy (IAF) of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF). Venezuela is at a historic crossroads: despite significant obstacles, the country held opposition-led primaries that illustrate a profound desire for change. María Corina Machado emerged victorious with around 90 per cent of the vote. But challenges remain, such as the disqualification of candidates and the use of public institutions and propaganda in favour of power holder Maduro, which require international action.
