Mit zwei großen Vernissagen in Rabat und Casablanca endete die diesjährige Ausgabe des Kunstprogrammes Bayt Al Fenn. Elf Künstlerinnen und Künstler hatten sich zuvor im Rahmen einer Residenz mit der Frage „Alyasch Aqalti?“ (Woran erinnerst Du Dich?) beschäftigt. Das Ergebnis ist eine kritische Auseinandersetzung mit der Kindererziehung in Marokko, dargeboten in allen möglichen Formen: gemalt, geslammed, gesprayed, animiert und installiert.

This year’s edition of the Bayt Al Fenn art programme ended with two major vernissages in Rabat and Casablanca. Eleven artists had previously explored the question „Alyasch Aqalti?“ (What do you remember?) during a multi-day residency. The result critically examines child education in Morocco, which is presented in all possible forms: painted, slammed, sprayed, animated, and installed.

In late November, IPDAL, the leading Portugese foreign policy think tank, FNF Madrid and the Universidade Europeia organized the 3rd Africa XXI conference in Lisbon. The interventions of relevant international organisations, the Portuguese government, foundations, think tanks and private sector leaders, allowed for an in-depth debate about the main issues facing the continent at the moment, particularly in the area of food insecurity as a result of the invasion of Ukraine.

Wer bin ich? Diese Frage beschäftigte ein Kollektiv aus elf marokkanischen Künstlerinnen und Künstlern im Rahmen der Ausstellung „Bayt Al Fenn“ in Rabat. Fragen der Identität sind für junge Marokkanerinnen und Marokkaner, die nach Orientierung suchen, von großer Bedeutung. Sie diskutieren über die kulturelle und geografische Identität ihres Landes an der Schnittstelle zwischen Afrika, Europa und der arabischen Welt. All diese unterschiedlichen Einflüsse und Überlegungen tragen dazu bei, dass Marokko ein kulturell enorm reiches und vielfältiges Land ist.

Seit dem arabischen Frühling 2011 arbeiten wir gezielt an der Vernetzung und Fortbildung von Frauen und jungen Menschen, damit diese die Zukunft gestalten und errungene Rechte und Freiheiten ausschöpfen können. Wir setzen uns dauerhaft für die Stärkung der Beziehungen Marokkos mit Europa und Deutschland ein und kommentieren das Weltgeschehen aus ungewohnter Perspektive: der nordwestlichen Ecke Afrikas.
