Liberal Forum: Armenia

This was the core question of the Liberal Forum Armenia taking place in a country famous for IT innovation and one of the leaders in exporting ICT services. The forum provided a space for discussions among politicians, academics and civil society organizations. Outsourcing work from the Global North to the Global South via digital networks can create attractive jobs for the growing young population in Africa and other regions of the South and avoid the disadvantages that are usually associated with migration. This is the key message of a new study by the Global Partnership Hub of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, which was presented today at an international conference in Nairobi. The concept also helps European countries to combating the shortage of skilled workers that jeopardizes their economies.

Media Freedom: short film „Istina“ nominated for student Oscar

The short film “Istina”, which was supported by Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, has been nominated for the 50th Student Academy Awards/Student Oscars®. The film tells the story of a photojournalist from Belgrade who is threatened by right-wing extremist thugs and flees to Germany with her daughter. For the young film team around director Tamara Denić and producer Christian Siée, this is a dream come true.
